Well 5:00 pm came and went and I just realized that the diesel pump in the street that's been running all day, sitting 30 yards away from my very open bedroom window is going to continue to run all night. I kind of thought they'd turn it off at 5:00 when they went home. But they apparently didn't get a temporary fix in the sewer line so run it must. 😕

I posted this and later realized that I have literally years of experience living at least this close to a dozen diesel motors grinding 24/7, pipes clanging and people yelling. So I don't know why I even brought it up. I guess I'm just a whiny old dude anymore.
Screw it. I'm walking down to the bar in a minute so that when I come back I won't hear it anymore. Cuz that's basically the way we handled it in the oil field when I was in my 20s and 30s.
