Hey, @th3j35t3r: I think you can see counts of how many times someone has starred a post.

Isn't that bad? Am I misunderstanding what those numbers next to a star mean?

I thought the stars were just so you could show the person you paid attention to a post. I know it's not sorting or promoting posts by popularity, but should we even be seeing "vote" counts?

Just curious. It feels either off-mission or I'm just misunderstanding something.

@AskTheDevil Counts and views on individual posts is fine. What we don't do here is allow you to go to a users profile and see everything that particular user has ever liked/starred.

I like that you can only see it once you've been interested enough to click on a post -- then you can see how many times and who has liked and reposted it. If every post in the feed had the number of likes and retweets, you would be inclined to click the ones with the larger numbers, perhaps. The status quo is good.

@FireMonkey @th3j35t3r It's the fact that people will judge based on popularity I am concerned about.

@FireMonkey @th3j35t3r But to be clear, I think that the way it is handled here is much safer, and there are other policies in place (as well as custom), that alleviate the worst of the dangers.

Like, electricity is dangerous, but you can use insulation to reduce the danger and still use electricity.

I bring it up as a concern, not an immediate threat to our well-being.
