I used to keep all my records (yeah, a relic from the distant past) in old milk crates. My cats used them as scratching posts, so all the spines on my records are completely shredded, hence the belated need to trim their claws.

I went thru that in the '80s, I had a vinyl collection & cats, same result. Neither now, much happier for it.
