@sfleetucker Its a sad turn of events for him, but the story is about him testifying about misappropriated funds he took in part for speaking engagements he never gave. In one version of this story he says he wasn't aware it was taxpayer money. But never raises concern he was paid for work he didn't perform. So he's a weasel, he just doesn't want to be called a specific type of weasel.

@Fellixe He's trying to use his medical diagnosis as an out for his crime, and that's a nogo.

If he had been stealing medication he couldn't afford, I'd be sympathetic, but this was just theft for the sake of money.

@sfleetucker Some call it networking, getting oneself into cahoots with people who are all deep into stealing and looking down on those too powerless to join their grift. I don't know that he's using his diagnosis as an excuse but he definitely brought it up in a context where he's relying on it for sympathy and that's bad enough for me. He could have used his position and influence to reveal this in a setting that drew attention to the issue and drove a solution but instead he chose this.
