March for Our Lives Makes Its First-Ever Political Endorsement: Kamala Harris
'βMarch For Our Lives will work to mobilize young people across the country to support Vice President Harris and other down-ballot candidates, with a particular focus on the states and races where we can make up the margin of victory β in Arizona, New York, Michigan, and Florida,β she wrote.' #politics
@Fellixe Why would she think New York is in play? NY last went for a Republican presidential candidate 40 years ago, and I have seen nothing to indicate that this trend is endangered.
@00pi Cuomo crashed and burned, Hochul is polarizing, Adams is a mess. New York has safe districts but if you want to win the state you can't just hang a (D) on your name, it takes work.
@00pi Hochul won statewide election by an historically narrow margin. One could assume her weakness as a candidate and the Cuomo association were to blame, but that isn't something to bet a presidential election on. Better to assume the state is teetering and effort will be needed to tilt it the right way.
@Fellixe I agree in principle, but to prioritize it with those other states seems misplaced. If New York falls, the election wasn't winnable. In place of New York, Nevada, Wisconsin, New Mexico, Arizona, Michigan, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Minnesota, or even Ohio would have made more sense. Texas would have made about as much sense as New York. I'm not a betting man, but if the opportunity arose, I would put some real money against Trump taking New York.
