@Minholkin lemme know when-Iceland has been on my bucket list for a LOOOOONG time!! 🌨️ β˜ƒοΈ 🐴

@Oma_Trisha apologies...i'll start using the CW for discussions of Uvalde & other potentially disturbing posts.

Daniel Defense, the company that made the rifle the gunman used on Tuesday to kill 21 people inside an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas, received a $3.1 million loan from the federal government in April 2020 through the Paycheck Protection Program. nytimes.com/2022/05/26/busines

@JailTheTrumps ...welp, we're already in the 6th mass extinction, I'm still waiting for the . in the mean time-I'm getting with my local groups and doing what we can to help each other. πŸ‘

@JailTheTrumps obvs it's not an easy solution. i see healthcare, housing, clean food/water, education-as human rights. i see those making more than their families could ever spend-as the criminals...enabled by the easily bought off "representatives" in DC who value their money/jobs/power more than the lives of their constituents. The system is failing-in real time.

@Qbae ...you holding up ok? That sucks. Hopefully they'll give you something soon. I grew up with recurring kidney infections...i feel for you.

@JailTheTrumps ..mmm...gratitude...? to someone like musk or gates who could spend just SOME of their billions to fight hunger? I don't think so. I'm of the "break out the guillitine" persuasion.

the difference is "your" expectation-vs "their" understanding of the actual law. Do you think they aren't aware of the federal law stating they aren't responsible for actually "protecting" anyone...??
They did just make it worse tho by actually attacking parents who WERE trying to save children. Yeah-THAT is FKD up.

@JailTheTrumps the perspective would have to change from valuing assets, to actually valuing the worker, and the value workers create. I think there's an element of when a Community comes together to support each other-I think that would be very very sustainable. What isn't addressed with that tho-is the effect that overconsumption is having on the planet & the environment. I don't think the corporatists are going to let their power go without a fight.

@Qbae ..ouch...that sucks. i hope they're quick about getting you some meds. Yikes...i hope you feel better soon!

@JailTheTrumps it sounds like you've thought thru this a little more than me...somehow the materials needed to build/maintain the internet, etc. have to be paid for. I think something to consider is the concept of Modern Monetary Theory-which suggests that any country that creates it's own fiat "money" NEVER has to say "we can't afford it"...srsly. I follow some folks on FB who are proponents of MMT-I don't understand all the details-but I sure as fk get that we print our own $$.

@JailTheTrumps (2/ ) if we made housing AFFORDABLE, and kept landlords from raising rents & evicting ppl, if we solved as many of the "ills" of society as there are-we'd have a MUCH healthier society, and dramatically reduced need for armed cops. But that would require a whole new way of looking at this country & how we allow things to happen.
