Ordered 3 glow in the dark petunias. They're actual, living plants, but obv science created them. They've got some fungi genes.
Anyway, the important thing here is that I am going to have the coolest yard and that is how you win at suburbia.
@Minholkin oh hi Min!
Yes I will post pictures once they're planted.
Yay!! I’m sitting outside in my own little suburban oasis 😍
Listening to the birds, the breeze in the trees and the drone of bees
@Minholkin I'm happy I was even able to order them lol
I wanted to order the snapdragon tomatoes (the other notable science plant) but then there was a scandal involving an organic seeds company and they were all over the news. Now if I want those seeds I need to buy them from scalpers on etsy D:
Aw man 😱
@Minholkin consumer gene-edited plants have finally launched and it's very cool.
But yeah someone stole a bunch of the tomato seeds and then passed them off as organic and an heirloom seed company bought them. They got duped to a pretty crazy degree like no due diligence at all. The inside of these tomatoes is BRIGHT purple. No natural tomato looks like that. Ppl figured it out immediately cause only one company in the world produces those tomatoes.
@Minholkin so between the heirloom seed company senselessly destroying all these seeds and the negative press coverage creating a huge amount of interest in the tomatoes... yeah I couldn't get any :(
I did get the petunias before they sold out tho, maybe because they only got positive press. Kinda funny how that worked out.
@Minholkin
fr how did anyone - let alone a professional seeds distributor - think these were organic. It boggles the mind.
