I'm so torn on large language model AI because the science it enables - bioacoustic research in particular - is truly beautiful, wondrous stuff. On the other hand its main use is as a confident but inexpert content/info source. Like the elemental spirit of mediocrity trapped in a box that nonetheless is already costing writers their jobs.

I really wish AI and LLM terms hadn't become conflated.
LLMs ain't AGI and they won't get anyone there. Bring your own brain.
@Expecting_Words I've seen them do cool things for search, so they're not useless, but they also shouldn't be doing things where human judgment isn't applied to the results, or a human can't take over when the model gets "stuck."
