We hit a humid 98.2*f yesterday in my lil corner of the . It was 80* INSIDE my house, WITH a/c units running all day. They just couldn't keep up. Ugh.

Today is supposed to be about 10* cooler, so, I'll take it. I hate summer. :D

@Evereigh I was just saying in another post that we’re gradually moving from a cool, misty PNW rainforest climate to a mediterranean climate — long, hot, dry summers and mild, rainy winters. We’ve already moved from zone 7 about 30 years ago to today’s zone 9. I’m replanting my yard to survive summers that are permanently like this one, and to provide summer shade via deciduous trees along the southwest sides of the house. I also recommend saving up to install a whole house exhaust fan..

@lifeinthePNW I was JUST looking at the whole house exhaust fans last night!

We have one window, up way high at the front of the house, like in the stairwell, kinda, where the sun just beats through. I was looking at remote control shades for it, It's too high to get to on a regular basis, so a "regular" shade won't work.

@Evereigh I have a skylight and basically just keep the white honeycomb shade pulled down on it all the time. Light comes through but not heat and I’m never blinded by it.
