Waiting for my neighbors decision on a heat pump. We've decided to put ours on hold & see what other options are out there. Other than propane or wood there isn't any.

I despise oil/hot air heat but told we needed it as a back up. Why not wood? That's what they are planning to do so I'm curious to hear what the costs are and the details of it all.

@KazzyH We have, and LOVE, our pellet stove! We got it at Lowes, for about $1,200 I think. Installed it ourselves, but we were replacing an old one, so it was real simple! It even has WiFi and an app I use to turn it on/off.

Ours is really big, the hopper holds almost 3 40lb bags of pellets, which lasts us about 3 days of non-stop burning.

@Evereigh

I see some around here use them & are very happy with it. 🙂 we will check them out next time we are at lowes.

I read that someone was using a heat pump and their pipes froze in their basement which is kind of crazy.. they didn't wrap their pipes though & the space wasnt insulated ( rock foundation ). We insulated our concrete basement.
