New French doors get installed Thursday. Also, the texturing for the wall where we removed the fireplace gets done, which then means I can finally paint that wall! Contractor is also going to build the front gate.
The house being in remodel limbo is making my brain itchy. I am not a neat freak by ANY means, but Holy Hell, having the house in disarray is REALLY impacting my mental health!
I cannot wait until we are done! (still a ways off though)
@AverageCitizen It IS exciting! I feel like I'm finally going to see some finished projects. It feels like we've started a bunch, but nothings DONE! lol Hubbs is currently removing more kitchen tile, so maybe by the end of July I'll have new floors!
@AverageCitizen No. It does not. Lol There is the tile, then the mortar and backing, then all the staples that were holding the backing to the subfloor. It's a huge pain in the ass. If you can afford it, pay someone ELSE to do it!! Haha
@AverageCitizen ESPECIALLY if it goes under your cabinets. Ours doesn't, thankfully, but we do have to move the fridge and stove. Fridge is gonna be a PITA to move.
@Evereigh we do a lot of projects ourselves but yeah, will probably pay someone to do that for me. We’ll probably just talk about doing for a few more years before actually doing it. 😂
I tiled all the bathrooms at our previous house but this one we had installers do it. Tiling is so hard on the knees and I was a lot younger then!
@Evereigh does the tile come up easy? We’re talking about putting tile in our living room (& get rid of the carpet) but the tile that goes all around the hallway and kitchen is almost 20 years old. I think if we tile the LR we should just do it all the same through the kitchen & halls as well. I know it goes under our kitchen cabinets though. Inaction seems easier!
