Great documentary on life in Palestine under Israeli occupation & apartheid

The story begging to be told is the return of the New civilians to their homeworld after the Reconquest of Mandalore.

Tensions were already high when it was just two factions that were both traditionalists that more or less followed the old ways.

IMAGINE what it would be like for the people who grew up only knowing the pacifist version of Mandalorian society. Oh you had an issue with that guy taking off his helmet that one time? Well she doesn’t even *own* a helmet

@kismatt admittedly never seen voltron (though I have a general pop culture sense of it) but it seems way more like Goonies, Stranger Things, etc

According to a new listing by US Copyright Databank, Star Wars: Skeleton Crew is set for a January 2024 release date, and it also gives a synopsis for the show:

“We are introduced to four kids who make a mysterious discovery on their seemingly safe home planet and get lost in a strange & dangerous galaxy. Finding their way home, meeting unlikely allies and enemies, will be a greater adventure than they ever imagined.”

One of my favourite things about the Marda story in ‘Tales of Light & Life’ is that it confirmed there’s at least a handful of surviving Evereni family lines by Phase II, so it wouldn’t be that crazy to have an Evereni character around in the Rebellion or New Republic Eras

Now that the WGA strike is over, Deadline is reporting that Marvel Studios will soon begin writer meetings for pitches on its first X-Men movie, with a decision likely to be made by the beginning of 2024

Someone is making a detective show about a recently-diagnosed autistic woman, starring, written, and crewed by autistics!

After Ahsoka & Kenobi, Prequels Anakin, Vader & Clone Wars Anakin feel more like one seamless character than ever

If they made a standalone High Republic novel after phase 3 focused on a particular character or group of characters, set either before or after the events of the saga, who would you want it to be about?

IMO, the use of nostalgia/fanservice in Ahsoka is very similar to how Rian Johnson used it in TLJ. Not just fanservice for its own sake, but making perfect sense within the story, and filling an important thematic purpose supporting a character arc.

Ahsoka & Sabine have both had their lives defined by trauma, war, & death since they were children. They both lost the only home they had and everyone they cared for.

Their struggle now is to figure out how to break the cycle and forge a new path, not just as soldiers

Sometimes with animation you can kinda forget how young these people are. This is a child leading a war. This is someone who was just playing as a youngling not long ago, someone who would’ve thought she’d never have to face this kind of violence, thrust into the middle of a war, responsible for the life of death of men who rely on her.

She’s reaccepted herself as a Jedi, her way. What the Jedi can & should be, when they don’t have to be defined by violence & war.

She confronted her past, and now she can finally move forward with her future without holding anything back. Ahsoka The White, Jedi reborn.

2/2

LOVE ’s new look. *Very* Jedi, and I think that’s 100% intentional.
She’s finally had some sense of catharsis and resolution to her relationship with anakin, dealt with and confronted her childhood trauma and her issues & reservations about her training and place as a Jedi (which directly feeds into her own issues & failings now with Sabine).
And now having dealt with that, she really feels like…Ahsoka! Less jaded & stoic, like she’s really moved past that chip on her shoulder.

I was listening to a Star Wars podcast (@ew’s Dagobah Dispatch) where the hosts joke “Does Timothy zahn get paid every time they say heir to the empire?” And like, is there any better example of manufactured memory 🤣 they have said it *literally* once this entire show 🤣
