Just watched Vampire Humaniste Cherche Suicidaire Consentant. Phenomenal film. A Canadian 10 (an American 8). Strongly recommend.

It’s also up for best picture and just about everything else at the Canadian Screen Awards!

You can watch it now on crave.

Honestly, especially in terms of the characters, I’m a lot more into the new MCU than I was pre-endgame 🤷🏻‍♀️

In another bad day for the “Daredevil/Marvel TV is not canon” people, the new trailer for repeatedly uses ‘Daredevil’ Netflix footage

Researching Norse Yuletide and realizing my Thor shirt technically counts as a Christmas outfit

So is literally any app in Canada streaming the Jodie Whitaker Doctor Who Seasons? As far as I can tell, Disney+ is getting all new content, and amazon has modern Who up to Capaldi.

Is she just blacklisted? Can I not finish that lol

If Smith gets 90% of Naqvi’s votes, he wins.

If Crombie gets 17% of his votes, she wins.

And this is as Naqvi was probably the most forcefully anti-crombie candidate, and he and Smith have already endorsed each other. This is very far from the slam dunk the crombie camp expected

The parallels between MCU & Star Wars discourse nowadays are crazy Ngl.

Case in point, both fandoms choose to believe the myth that the first saga was some carefully plotted masterplan outlined before the first movie came out, when it’s very clear it was improvised

Just found out Yvonne Chapman (Zhilan in CW’s ‘Kung Fu’) is playing Avatar Kyoshi in Netflix’s ‘The Last Airbender’ and oh my god that’s so perfect.

The more we go along the more glaringly obvious that whole “marvel can’t legally recast FoX-Men until 2025” rumour is 100% true and they’re just trying to make the most of it without wrecking the potential of the X-Men in the MCU proper

The story begging to be told is the return of the New civilians to their homeworld after the Reconquest of Mandalore.

Tensions were already high when it was just two factions that were both traditionalists that more or less followed the old ways.

IMAGINE what it would be like for the people who grew up only knowing the pacifist version of Mandalorian society. Oh you had an issue with that guy taking off his helmet that one time? Well she doesn’t even *own* a helmet

According to a new listing by US Copyright Databank, Star Wars: Skeleton Crew is set for a January 2024 release date, and it also gives a synopsis for the show:

“We are introduced to four kids who make a mysterious discovery on their seemingly safe home planet and get lost in a strange & dangerous galaxy. Finding their way home, meeting unlikely allies and enemies, will be a greater adventure than they ever imagined.”

One of my favourite things about the Marda story in ‘Tales of Light & Life’ is that it confirmed there’s at least a handful of surviving Evereni family lines by Phase II, so it wouldn’t be that crazy to have an Evereni character around in the Rebellion or New Republic Eras

After Ahsoka & Kenobi, Prequels Anakin, Vader & Clone Wars Anakin feel more like one seamless character than ever

If they made a standalone High Republic novel after phase 3 focused on a particular character or group of characters, set either before or after the events of the saga, who would you want it to be about?

IMO, the use of nostalgia/fanservice in Ahsoka is very similar to how Rian Johnson used it in TLJ. Not just fanservice for its own sake, but making perfect sense within the story, and filling an important thematic purpose supporting a character arc.
