@Alt_Human @WeThePeople You're speaking to someone that lost her father to cirrhosis when he was only 58, to someone who worked at an alcohol recovery residential program...please don't tell me that fewer people are addicted to alcohol than are addicted to nicotine. There are far fewer deaths every year due to nicotine addiction, due to public awareness, education, and the treatment of smokers as pariahs, the same can not be said for alcohol addiction and its related illnesses.

@Alt_Human @WeThePeople Peyote and psilocybin are currently legal to possess and use on native lands in my state and in some rituals outside of reservations as well. I smoke and have done so for 50 years now. I'm considerate of others and step far enough away to not affect anyone with my 2nd hand smoke and I don't litter always disposing of my butts properly. If I decide to quit I will do so without the need of big brother forcing me to do so. Adults should be able to make their own decisions.

@Alt_Human @WeThePeople How are they going to replace the massive amount of money currently being paid to federal & state governments through sin taxes? What do they start taxing out the wazoo to replace those funds? Increase taxes on alcohol by the same amount they lose from tobacco income? Triple the tax on soda & junk food? Like it or not the burden of taxation would have to be shifted to some other product. Legalize pot nationwide & tax it so much as to make it unaffordable?

@WeThePeople I prefer that adults make their own decisions as regards the vices in which they choose to participate. After tobacco what would be banned next? Alcohol? It's consumption is responsible for a heck of a lot of deaths every year, as I recall prohibition didn't work out so well last time it was enacted. Perhaps ban red meat consumption to decrease cardiovascular deaths and green house emissions at the same time? Do we make pot illegal again? Smoking it isn't exactly healthy.
