I miss having friends. Like friends who I can count on being there for me whether it's a text, phone call, video chat, letter or literally anythin else. I'm always the one who asks if they're ok or need a shoulder to cry on. When will it be my turn? I understand that it's a two-way streak maybe, I should be better at reaching out but the truth is I'm tired. Tired of chasing and trying to add effort when I don't get it in return 😒
@EllyOnTheGo If you're in Boston or one of the other parkrun locations, I can recommend parkrun as a way to make some enduring friendships. In a few months I made friendships that have become fulsome and rewarding, and the circle keeps growing. One of my friends has had MS for 30 years and has barely missed an opportunity to walk, run, or hobble around with her walker depending on her state of health. Feel free to DM me for more info.
@peterquirk I'm close to Boston but not close enough just for a walk around the park. I'm in RI, are there's places like this where I am too?
@EllyOnTheGo I'm afraid there's nothing in RI yet. If you can round up half-a-dozen friends there are parkrun ambassadors who can help you start one. The first challenge is to find a public space where you can do this without having to go through a permitting process every week. Some municipalities hate sharing their spaces with people from other towns. A cooperative old estate or farm is sometimes a good alternative.

@peterquirk I appreciate the info, thank you!
