I have now gotten into two convos with Xians complaining about the “they” pronouns. To which I said “God is a They.” At their protests I point out that “He” is Father, son, and Holy Spirit. What I realized I need to pull into the convo next time is the verse about God making mankind in his own image, “male and female he created them.”

They’ve both said they don’t know that they can buy into my argument but I know it got them thinking, because they really couldn’t argue against the trinity.

@Ellomumsy
I heard somewhere that within the first sentences of Genesis the Bible refers to God with male, female and nongendered nouns, though gendered nouns in non-English languages are often fairly silly and have nothing to do with the gender of what the word refers to. (In French and Spanish, "strength" is feminine and "uterus" is masculine, for instance.)
