Man, feeling so drained tonight, and just exhausted by everything going on in the world. My spouse and 2 of my kids are in the crossfire of the war on trans people, and combined with attacks on basic human rights like the right to make medical determinations for one's own kids, it's really terrifying. We’re in a "safe state", but that doesn't stop crazy people from making false reports or trying to "turn people in" because they hate who you are. It's hard to feel so unsafe constantly

Please use caution when bringing Twitter nonsense here: QTing stuff to dunk on it ended up being one of the most problematic, toxic elements there. It kept putting people in front of me I'd decided to ignore.
I'll beg if I have to: please, please, please stop fixating on what you want to oppose, and live into what you want to give your energy to, and what you want to celebrate.
I've found that being in a "for" community is much more productive than being in an "against" community.
I see that #CoSoTips is like a FAQ by and for users.
Here’s one for you.
You can re-arrange your pinned toots. If you have one you like to keep on top, then after adding the latest pinned toot, un-pin and then re-pin the one you want on top. Easy peasy.
See a troll? Just report it and move on. Or watch it closely, and you just might see a rare live! #CoSoTips
PROTIP -
If the Firehose is too much, you can unpin it.
If a hashtag, word or phrase is annoying you, filter it.
If a person is annoying you, block them.
If you don't want to block them, mute them.
If you only want your friends to see your posts in feeds, set that as your default post privacy setting in your settings/preferences.
The tools are available for you to combine in your own way and make COSO your unique experience.
👍
In these early days of adjustment and expansion, I urge everyone to take their time to pause, breathe, reflect, then act.
It’s all so much—too much to process between real life concerns and the fears of what online changes might imply for our lives.
Please, please take a step back and breathe. Take care of yourself. Look at the sky. Don’t give any single person too much influence over your experience.
See the possibility of this place and use the resources to make it so, for you.
#introductions dipping a toe in the water before leaving Twitter. @mrrochesterrock over there.
The NYT watched 1,150 Tucker Carlson episodes (😵🤢) Here’s what they found:
In 800 episodes he pits those he considers enemies against his viewers & tries to convince them that “they” are threatening, nefarious & harmful to his viewers, 600 episodes suggesting white discrimination
200 episodes about alleged threats to masculinity
400 episodes against immigration
600 episodes of fear mongering an apocalyptic worldview.
The sheer scale of propaganda is astounding.

New folks.
(this is just my opinion)
When you move to a foreign country, that has a different culture, different habits, you try to blend in. You might try on a different language. Or try new foods.
But what you don't do is assume that the natives will accept your culture, and habits, and embrace your lifestyle.
CoSo has a culture. We have been living here for 5 years.
Please understand, I mean no disrespect, but if you expect your bird site behavior to fly here, you will just be ignored.

Here for better days, hopefully good friends.
