Flaco inspired a lot of people not only in NY but worldwide. For me he was a New Yorker out there just doing the daily NYC gritty grind while bringing out the best in us. For a bird who had only known captivity for most of his life, he showed resilience in the face of the unknown.Anyhoo, I signed this petition to garner public support for a statue in his honor in Central Park. He deserves it. Perhaps Flaco meant something to you too. β€οΈπŸ¦‰ chng.it/sPtWLLWJSg

If you don’t know anything about him other than his music, know this… he was a kind, generous, humble & sweet soul who enjoyed, and made a point of, mentoring the next Gen of singers.

A little NYC story about Tony Bennett
My boss at a company I worked at a long time ago used to sing every now & again in her office. One day I walked in while she was singing & mentioned how good she was (she really was) & asked if she ever took lessons. She hadn’t. Long story short, we found a good school near Carnegie Hall. She began classes. One day I went along. She was practicing β€œBring Him Home” from Les Miserables. Mr. Tony Bennett walked in the room-asks her to sing with him.Miraculous!

Are you…

Because chocolate covered strawberries and chocolate roses are AWESOME 😍
