Babies born while we were bouncing up and down at that gig become adults today. The memory of losing my shit when the band played b-side Take My Temperature as the encore number are as vivid as those babies memories of last week. What a gig.
All together now... Ohhhhhhhhh ohhhhhhhhh ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!
Anyone else ever get the feeling you're watching yourself from just behind your head like an old PlayStation game? Or you're actually a tiny force having to hulk around a tiresome meat sack, like that alien in the morgue in Men In Black? Too many ins in that sentence. Either way, in the immortal words of David Bowie, "this is not quite yet".
New delivery: Double A-Sided 7" pink/black split vinyl single featuring the two new Skunk Anansie tracks released digitally last year. The pulsating synth-pop inspired Can't Take You Anywhere, and the anthemic, chaotic heavy metal madness of Piggy.
Adore both of these songs, so very glad to have them on vinyl!
Excellent new album from my favourite folkpunk polkapirates The Dreadnoughts. Digital only for now but available on Bandcamp to buy or all the streaming services to leach. Get yeeself a cider or seven and enjoy...
Rik Mayall would have been 65 today. I usually like to joke about in a manner he'd approve of, telling the useless bastard to just stop being dead, okay? But this time around, more than ever... I just really miss him. I feel very lucky to have met him a couple of times and know that I made him smile, because his work continues to make me smile on a regular basis. The very pinnacle. Love ya (P)Rik.
