@th3j35t3r I don't get what he is playing at. To me, he's slime and not to be trusted.
@Desmblake @th3j35t3r
Or, he may not actually have that much in liquid assets and this is just a market manipulation tactic to inflate the value of what he already holds. We've certainly seen him play that game before.
@voltronic @Desmblake @th3j35t3r will it tank though?
1. Musk shenanigans are priced in
2. GameStop. Wall Street is irrational.
I wonder if he thinks he can save us from misinformation, cause a private comp. can do sort of anything they want, as long as it's legal. Ie. kick off faux news spreaders, ban people, etc. with no threat of free speech lawsuits @Desmblake @th3j35t3r
@Armchaircouch I think they could do all that now if they wanted...
Being private I guess means less blow back but let's not kid ourselves. They could make twitter almost as nice as this place if they wanted...but they don't.
Making it private might make it more possible, but I still don't think Musk would want to decrease user engagement unless he just wants to burn it all to the ground.
just my 2 cents
@akeblay @Armchaircouch @Desmblake @th3j35t3r
PS We love you, J.
@Desmblake
A hostile takeover is what he's playing at.
He makes a threat to sell his ~9% shares, which will certainly cause the stock price to tank. Then he says it's "not a threat".
