I understand the fun in seeing your year-end Spotify 'most-played' stats. Consider this, at an average rate of .004 $/play you need to stream an artist 2500 times for them to make $10. That's almost 7 plays every single day. Artists make more $ if you buy their music, tickets or merch. I am not a big fan of renting music. At least not until the artists are better compensated. (Edit had to correct the rate to $ instead of cents.)
