Do you believe in anything supernatural?

@CriticalCupcake Supernatural means "attributed to some force beyond scientific understanding or the laws of nature". Then I guess I do. Although there's some scientific study on "spirit" and reincarnation I can't imagine it's understood, and lately I've been fascinated by stories of children who talk about their former lives and deaths, and choosing their parents prior to their return to flesh and blood existence.
@REDonaldAuthor oh ive got stories for you. Lol do you look into the science of consciousness? 🤣 @CriticalCupcake
@ucantstop_me Yikes! That’s all I need to keep me from ever finishing my 6th novel! The consciousness of plants is one of the areas of study, I see.I can’t even kill an ant without being racked with guilt. Now I’ll have to worry about pulling up carrots and eating asparagus. Thanks a lot. 😜
@REDonaldAuthor we should discuss some day (not today because we are navigating a crisis with my son. Thanks
@CriticalCupcake Being a Christian, it kind of goes with the territory.
@stueytheround @CriticalCupcake I think if there's a Creator who made the universe, they're as natural as you can get, aren't they?
@CriticalCupcake yes. A lot. Especially if you include meditation experiences that defy explanation. Lol. I
@CriticalCupcake It might seem odd that I would say no, and I do say no with certain caveats.
But no, I've been around since the whole thing began, and I have not seen any proper proof of the supernatural. I see natural things that people don't understand, but if it exists and you can interact with it using matter and energy and space and time, it cannot be _super_natural, cannit.
Just curious - do you have a better descriptor for such things?
@ATXJane @CriticalCupcake Which things? When we stop accepting that anything can be supernatural, we're left only with natural things. What descriptors would we use to describe things that we _would_ call supernatural but they aren't?
What trait makes things "supernatural" if there's no such thing as super natural?
@CriticalCupcake
Nope.
But I love it in fiction!
