So today someone asked what the name of the hurricane was in FL. I said "Milton". They responded that it was about time it was a male name.
So I pointed out that male names were added in the 70s and several named storms (Andrew, Hugo, Fabian, etc.) had been retired.
To which they replied, "Oh, that's why I don't remember, I was born after all those."
I'm gonna go desiccate into dust now.
I didn't mention Ian, I should have. I thought Tomas was Caribbean and didn't make US landfall. (Not being US centric, but if the kid doesn't know US hurricanes...)
Edit - I did mention Fabian, which only struck Bermuda, because I was on the island for business. I'm a MAGNET! 😱
