ELCA is not a weird splinter sect filled with demons and heretics - it's the mainline church.

This is all cracking me up, TBF. Two of my closest friends are MN ELCA Lutherans and the jokes about the Missouri Synod are flying.
That said - what is the difference between a religion and a cult?

Soon after Anders and Sonja were married, he was in a shipwreck and castaway on an island alone. Sonja searched every day and finally found him after months of searching.
Rather than jump in and head home, Anders wanted to show what he had done first - a serviceable house, garden, and even a small chapel.
Sonja, impressed at his industriousness asked about the last building...
"Oh, that's my former church." 😉
