California bill SB 1047 which regulates AI and puts liability on the companies (gasp) is hugely unpopular with the PayPal mafia dons because rules but hugely popular with the public.

New polling shows it running +39, which is great. And +47 among TECH WORKERS.

Remember, that's where JD Vance comes in. He has fought hard in his 18 or so months in the Senate to make sure that the Silicon Valley VCs and founders get to self regulate.

Which is apparently supposed to be popular among the target techbro hustle culture stereotype they have in their heads. Because echo chambers.

Ask around, tech workers are fighting hard to keep marketing charmed CEOs from salivating like GSDs when they hear AI anything.

And it's not just about jobs.

I've always thought that tech worker unions were needed but often fail when they meet the FAANG package because they inevitable start in SV. Even most FAANG employees don't make the golden egg salaries, but they *want to*. And if unions level the field, they can't win the lottery.

Organize every person who schlepped a USB key around, FFS. Organize the backbone folks who deal with the stupid on a daily basis.

Know why MS has unions? Because they came with acquiring gaming companies.
