Ken Paxton painted a target on the backs of the three women justices who ruled against him. All three lost their primaries.
The RWNJs are going for it all, it seems.
@Cosmichomicide Texas Tribune has a good article on the reliable Republican primary voters and their relationship with Texas leadership. Over age 50 and extreme conservatives vote in the primaries and this is why their voice is heeded above the majority center leaning Republicans for leading Texas decisions. Primaries decide the winner in all but 4 races apparently.

One of the best things the NC Legislature ever did was create Unaffiliated. Until then, you had to be a Republican to get any say in the local races - settled in the primaries.
