The White House blew it by acting as if the special counsel's cheap shots were a big deal. They put #Biden in front of a hostile press thirsty for red meat in a live impromptu conference.
The smart thing would have been to issue a statement crowing about his innocence as detemined by a #Trump prosecutor.

I think that raising the volume on the press corps made them look like low rent tabloid paparazzi - you know, themselves.
Joe did fine, the press looked pathetic, and all asking about the date of his son's death and shrieking too old did was piss normal people off.
