So there is this thing called a BRAC - Base Realignment & Closure. Hasn't been done for a while (and we are overdue), but it may be time to realign some bases out of confused states like Texas who don't understand federal borders. Dangerous to national security to leave them there, not to mention the other issues with helathcare for servicemembers.
I have heard some US Army and Marine vets and active personnel say similar.

There's a reason that red states wrongly believe that the military is going to join with them to overthrow America.
They also believe they are entitled to the cash a military installation brings and to VA hospitals so that a good percentage of their populace can't see the healthcare issue for the Tricare.
The world has changed. Time to get off the camo teat.
Psst. Not kidding here. This is a legitimate issue over which you can write any representative and make a valid argument. We just left a decades long war. This is exactly the reason the act was passed.
