I've seen a few posts today that kinda misunderstand the role of government agencies.

Agencies issue guidance on and enforce regulations under their specific missions - they don't make law. They operate under the authority of Congress (legislative) at the direction of the President (executive). If there is a conflict, the judiciary compares it to the legislation.

Write your representative and the Congressional committees that draft bills for the specific agency.

Obligatory TedTalk close. 😜

Best recent example:

Upset about Boeing? Think the FAA and NTSB were slacking?

Nope, Congress gave Boeing an exemption on the MAX retrofits until 2026. So the actual accountability lies with the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee and the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation.

This, BTW, is the money line in that article:

"Chief Executive Dave Calhoun previously said that without the exemption, the company could even abandon the MAX 7 and 10 altogether."

My thoughts?

OK, and can we do the same with the Osprey, finally?
