A friend (RL, still on Twitter) today mentioned the offensive statement by the Auschwitz Museum.
Me: What statement, what did it say?
Friend: Let me find it, I've not read it but a lot of folks I follow unfollowed them. (finds and reads statement)
Me: And? What's the offensive part?
Friend: I think they didn't say anything about the suffering of the Palestinians.
Me: It's the Auschwitz Museum. Unfollow them on X. That will teach them to support Israel.

@Cosmichomicide It's frustrating that there are people who say "protect lives" and "don't be antisemitic" and it is interpreted as "so that's why it's okay to kill all Palestinians," and others who say "Let's not kill all the Palestinians" and somehow that's meant to mean "Kill Israel."
Saying you want people to not be killed, murdered, exploded, etc. should not automatically mean "Because I want to do it to different people."
Exactly. It's not the statement I would have issued for myself, but seemed pretty straightforward and in line with the organizational mission of the Auschwitz Council.
I just didn't see the reason for the outrage other than a desire to be outraged. 🤷🏻♀️
