"Hostage Crisis represents a major test for Biden administration" - WaPo

"Israel and Hamas appear to be nearing a hostage deal" - NYTimes

Based on how these two generally write their headlines, looks like a hostage deal is gonna happen and they are stuck between it making it somehow a bad thing for Biden or simply giving no credit to the administration.

@Cosmichomicide NYT Pitchbot time!

"Israeli hostages were safely released today. Here's why that's bad news for Biden in 2024."

"Whether it's Biden helping broker a hostage deal or Gaetz crippling the House for almost a month, both parties are in crippling disarray."

@Cosmichomicide newspapers are owned by wealthy people who of course think they should control us all

@Diyaguse

I think that the owners and the editorial pages are not the news.

In general, I find the content of news articles to be quite good, the content of OpEds to be appalling. Unfortunately, both get presented as true and the Editorial Board tends to reflect ownership.

I think that there are actual journalists at the big shops, they just don't get the headlines they deserve or the endless SM promotion of the opinion pieces.
