In the last two weeks I've had people who barely Google ask me what's going on with The Bird. I was trying to think of pop culture events that had such a cultural ripple. First one that came to mind:
@Magnus Indeed. As someone who arrived for the food porn and cats, there are so many major world events recorded in the reactions of people from every walk of life and most of the world. It's a true shame.
@Cosmichomicide I was talking with some friends and while Twitter is largely a dumpster fire, it was a dumpster fire that recorded history live.. and all that information and knowledge will be lost. Like the destruction of the Library of Alexandrea. I hope that doesn't happen!
