I'd not known of Mileva Marić Einstein.
"Their letters and the numerous testimonies show that Mileva Marić and Albert Einstein collaborated closely from their school days up to 1914. Albert referred to it repeatedly in his letters, like when he wrote: « our work on relative motion”. Their union was based on love and mutual respect, which allowed them together to produce such uncommon work."

Jesus what a dick.
Albert: ”You made me laugh when you started threatening me with your recollections. Have you ever considered, even just for a second, that nobody would ever pay attention to your says if the man you talked about had not accomplished something important. When someone is completely insignificant, there is nothing else to say to this person but to remain modest and silent. This is what I advise you to do.”
@Agatha ffs. "Completely insignificant." rage. pure rage.
He kept her around until he got famous, then almost Immediately started cheating on her. Ass. Hole.
@Agatha @Coffee_and_Salt Tale as old as time, unfortunately 😕
@Coffee_and_Salt she was an intriguing woman. Very spirited and independent, fiercely dedicated to her studies and a devoted mother after they divorced. I think she made more contributions to his work than she’s given credit for, sadly.
They each faced challenges, due to being Jewish scientists at that time but she faced even more challenges. Thank you for bringing her up. I think we need to celebrate more accomplishments by women.
@Coffee_and_Salt
She was a revelation for me, but a little while ago. I think women in STEM tend to ferret out these stories on the earlier side - keeps us going.
