Privacy Notice: If you enable your PUBLIC LANDING PAGE, then the internet—including everything and everyone on it—can see your profile without logging in to CounterSocial.

You will note that we are very clearly informing you about the risks of enabling your Public Landing Page.

Did any other social media site that you were part of ever do that?

@CoSoTips mine will remain disabled. Absolute neophyte question J, does this allow or prevent persons outside of CoSo observing any profile or just that user who enabled it?

@Susandoyle PLP enabled would be per account. So If I go turn my PLP off then nobody outside coso can view my profile. @CoSoTips

@CoSoTips

I appreciate this caution message and also that there’s no shaming of folks who need further education about what it means.

@CoSoTips FYI to all: People from Mastodon can see our profile pages even without enabling this.

@Vwarheit @CoSoTips it's another social media site. This one is actually built on Mastodon architecture, but it split off from the 'federation' of servers that make up Mastodon.

@CoSoTips Thanks for this. Was wondering about what PLP designation meant. Leaving mine disabled.

@CoSoTips What's the difference between enabling PLP and turning on WWW?
