Today’s effort to #DoSomething for folks who’ll be adversely impacted by the incoming administration: dropping off Thanksgiving food supplies requested by our local food bank. While my effort isn’t much, I’m glad that supporting the food bank is a priority for many of my neighbors. Food insecurity runs rampant in my county. In addition to canned foods and dry goods, our food bank has full refrigeration capabilities and offers eggs, meat, and dairy, plus a garden for fresh sweet potatoes.

It's wonderful that you have refrigeration capabilities. Ours did not but they were looking into it. Very helpful to be able to do eggs and milk.
We did have garden food though.
@CinnamonGirlE One of the fellows I volunteered on another local nonprofit headed up the food bank for several years. He negotiated with a local grocery chain to get some of their refrigerator and freezer cases when they shut down a store a opened a new one. He raised money for a truck to help get farm produce and eggs and dairy to the food bank. It’s a massive organization now, plenty of volunteers, many, like him, working well into their 80s. He passed away at age 91. A true hero.
