I think the hardest part for me is the shattering of my understanding of where we are as a country.
I genuinely thought we were better than this; that most people are good and try to do good, that we would band together to do better, that we would not give in to our baser instincts.
That all smacks of hubris and naivety now, and I'm not sure I like what that means in terms of how I exist in the world.
To put it another way: Being a good person is a risk, and it's probably unwise to take that risk as a default way of being.

@CinnamonGirlE @kel I feel so disappointed, I was having an argument with a former Facebook friend in the messenger, she is an evangelical and I asked her why she supported Trump , she said she didn’t want a saint, that is the hypocrisy at its worst, since I want nothing to do with anything from Meta I had promised to myself that I was going to delete the app after the elections, I just deleted it this morning, it is so disappointing, but we can’t be like them .
@CinnamonGirlE @kel good !! We are not like them . Not too long ago VP Harris called Trump to concede and congratulate him , she did the right thing, she is not like them , none of us are like them.
