My son in law works as a paramedic. They get a surprising number of calls from users who overdid it and are convinced they are going to die. Bless them. 😂
@DianeH
I know it's scary for them, but it's just so humorous to me. They are not gonna die. lol.
@CinnamonGirlE That’s not good, it gives ammunition to those who want to thwart the freedom of access.
@MidnightRider
I understand what you are saying. Fuel on the fire here in evangelical nation.
@CinnamonGirlE No worries, either it will be legal or even more dangerous to procure.
@MidnightRider
Hoping for the prior. 🤞
@CinnamonGirlE Never felt like our lives are more on the line in my life and I’m sick at the thought of losing four good years at my advanced in MAGA hell.
@MidnightRider
I know it may seem naive, but I have to hold on to the hope that enough women are gonna vote their interests. Not to mention virtually everyone else he has alienated. I remind myself not everywhere, is where I live.
@CinnamonGirlE my buddy is an er doc at Emory University Hospital and he said the number of ER visits for overdosing on edibles has shot through the roof in the past few years. Especially in illegal states like GA where a lot of sketchy illegal products are available. Almost all often them think they are having heart attacks. Lol
@CinnamonGirlE I’ve definitely taken way too much (500mgs of edibles) and thought I was having a heart “situation” so I get the fear associated with that but I also know it’s not a real emergency so I just power through it and find something to binge eat lol
@SpaceShanks
I understand! Novices have no idea, lol.
@CinnamonGirlE
A long time ago we made some pot brownies for a friend who never tried it. He kept eating them one after another because he said he couldn’t feel anything. We had to call a doctor friend and ask if he could OD on it.
@allin
Had to argue pros and cons of this in grad school. Not possible to OD on marijuana. All the delta 9/ additives. That's another story maybe.
@CinnamonGirlE This was old school 1970’s pot.
@allin
I remember it 😉
@CinnamonGirlE They just need to lie down and clutch the ground with their fingers and toes so they don't float away.
@sfleetucker
My son in law has funny stories. I will pass this info along to him for future use. 😉
@CinnamonGirlE I took an edible, half dose, and literally went nuts. Never again. I didn't know what was in it but nope. Nope.
@SaltyVeruca
If ever a bad experience is had, who wants to repeat it? I understand.
@CinnamonGirlE Swear it was fine not weird. Spouse and daughter had them no problem. I was paranoid and out of my skin. I guess I'm super sensitive to everything.
@SaltyVeruca
I definitely thinking use of any type of substance is affected by our psyche at the time.
In the OR, any patient who was really anxious, you knew was going to come up swinging.
@CinnamonGirlE It's funny now but at the time, nah. My poor husband.😂
@SaltyVeruca
Things usually are funnier in hindsight. 😂
Thank goodness.
😂 Years ago I read an article a NYT journalist wrote about going to Colorado (I think) to test out edibles. She bought a candy bar. Ate candy bar. Barely managed to make it to the hotel bed. Once she woke she highlighted importance of reading instructions.
@ellesu
I bet she did. 😂 They frequently don't realize the slow onset of an edible, then take more. Then take off!!
That waiting part is pretty important. 😂
Vaping could be better for some. 😉
@ellesu 😂 yes. Knowledge is power.
Be careful.
@CinnamonGirlE I bet there are still people who remember right after I got my weed card and I ate a whole gummy because surely a gummy is a single dose, right? It was a wee bit stronger than the gummies I tried before, and wow. I could neither communicate, nor shut up.
@tippitiwichet
It does stand to reason that one small gummy would equal one dose. 😂
@CinnamonGirlE
My SIL did that! I hear it took them a bit to convince her she was just high.😀
