If this isn't true, I don't know what. Most of life is the day to day, routine and run of the mill. Better be able to find a way to enjoy the little things.

I will have to check it out. When we can really lean into the beauty of the mundane, it becomes better. The best way I have to do that is to contrast it with not normal days. And being very very grateful I am not living them right now. It really is true. There can be no light without darkness.

👏👏👏
Two things occur to me after reading this.
Boredom is a luxury. Settle & sit with yourself, it’s wonderful. Peaceful.
Also, we are animals. 😄 Other than hunting for sustenance or breeding season, what animal wants drama? Elephants, buffalo, squirrels..they don’t want excitement. I don’t either.

This is so true. Many people thrive on it. Whether a trauma response or some other non healing. I am not one of them. The older I get, the less I can take it.

As much as Marianne Williamson doesn't come across well with the (unfathomable) presidential runs -
she wrote a lovely bit about the dignity of living and working the 'normal' parts of life in her book, 'Everyday Grace.'
A wonderful way to think about the daily things we do that contribute to a serene and happy life for ourselves and our families.
