Tomorrow would be mom's birthday so I took it off (as usual) but not sure what I want to do in her honor... it's supposed to be rainy out so most likely I'll just chill out & relax with some of her favorite music and drink a Pepsi (her favorite soda but I'm a Coca Cola dude)...and light a few candles - it just feels different this year and I don't know why...
@duglop
It never gets easier. I passed 15 years since losing my mom this year. Big hugs.
@duglop
Good. Self-care and self love. Doing the same over here today.
@CinnamonGirlE dad & I never saw eye to eye until it was too late - but I still forgive him for everything because he was a good man (chief of the Fire Department, President of the Fire Department, and well respected by the entire town) even tho he & I clashed (that was mostly my own fault the way I would treat him in my teens - he didn't deserve that shit from me)... it means everything to me to honor them both any way any time I can!
@duglop
I understand. Both of my parents are gone. They weren't perfect people, but they were good people, both of them. I was loved, in a very GenX upbringing, lol. And I try to honor both of them every day. By trying to bring the best of them to my life.
@CinnamonGirlE absolutely! I can whole heartedly agree - I have no complaints the way I was raised...
@duglop
The older I get, the more I see how fortunate I was where they were concerned.
@CinnamonGirlE yep, dad passed away 5 years ago - my sister wouldn't let me speak to him for over a year even when he called me... so yeah it's rough during their birthdays so I try to take the day off work and do something special just for them... and thank you!
