I would love to buy a new car, but the front end/grills look so aggressively confrontational now. It's like a warning to all other drivers that "my" car is the only one that matters and I will kill you if you get in my way.

Though I am more an aggressive driver than defensive, I would rather appear unassumingly so.

I wish I could just get my Dodge Shadow back. Or better yet, a Volvo 240.

@th3j35t3r I moved from a city where ambulance rides were free back to my hometown, closer to my mom. My mom had two separate ambulance rides to the ER last month. One ride billed insurance $4K, the other billed $6K. The hospital is 2 miles from her home. However, because this small city does not have enough ambulances, the responding teams were from outside the area.

Don't even ask about her three week stay.

Thank goodness her Medicare picked up the cost.

@kel I think I beat the odds. I don't share for counts. After a few short moments, I sign off for other things, It's not just one platform.. it is all of them. I no longer have the bandwidth to chat for any length of time. Most likely I lurk 90% of the time I am on a platform, read news, learn other's opinions, gather bits of laughter.

But only here do I see the lovely existence of humanity at a consistent level.

After decades of dexatrim, weight watchers, nutrisystem, cigarette smoking, and every fad you can think of.. she was finally 10 pounds away from her goal weight.

But at 87 with a cane, how best to continue to lose weight? Stop drinking water while also taking water pills once a week.

"What size is that? and "How much do you weigh now?" and "You look like you (she, he they) have gained (lost) weight.".. I am sick of it all.

Just love yourself! Please.

Don't let the magical number rule you.

Please, don't jet your life be guided by a number.

My 87 yo mother spent three weeks in the hospital because of dehydration. She was so far gone that she was willing to change her funeral plans instead of letting me call 911 because she "didn't want to get poked for more blood."

Why was she dehydrated?

Because when she was pregnant with me 56 years ago, she gained weight. She has been trying to lose it her whole life!

Now that my robins have left their nest, I need to Godmother new babies..

Do you still wonder why they are trying to send women back to the kitchen with a baby on each hip?

The heatwave continues. I am actually glad I am stuck inside working.

For context.. average daily temps in this area for June range between 74°F to 81°F.

Median year of construction of homes in this city is 1942. The majority of homes do not have AC. Drive through the city and house windows are wide open trying to get any available breeze.

@nonayadambidnes Funny you said that, sloths belong to the family tree that includes anteaters and armadillos.

@nonayadambidnes We fed him them some berries, cucumbers, and some other green thing. LOL

The cool thing I learned was their baby teeth never get replaced and just continue to grow.. really long canines.

Their front claws were easily 4 inches long. They don't attack, but they will try to reach out for more food so we were advised to remove necklaces or dangly earrings.

My daughter came to visit last week and our adventures included feeding two sloths. So much fun and worth the price. They were so cute! A great memory made.
