Because I grew up in a small town with less than 40K people, I never truly feared for my safety. We never locked doors/windows even when away from the house. And despite being raped while living in Mesa, AZ and living almost 30 years in metro areas exceeding 1M people, I still forget to lock my doors. So maybe I'm the last person to speak on safety.
However, I can't think of a place online that cares more for the safety of each of us CoSoNauts than CoSo.

I've been on Facebook, Twitter, and Tumblr. I've dealt with some aggressive shits.
And again, I know that's not a lot to base my opinion on, but even I can realize the difference in comfort level signing on to different platforms.
J has taken time to fortify this stronghold with every trick of his trade. Not only does he fight off attacks to the overall site, he had the forethought to not capture our personal info.
Now, he's given us even more protection.

He has gifted us individual security keys that reconfigure every 300 seconds, just in case... Well, I don't know why.. Perhaps he was doubting his own abilities for a few moments.
(I'll add that the security key is mighty pretty and can be played with using your mouse.)
Jester does all this for us, while working his own job, finding time for his family and personal responsibilities, and working on all the gazillion requests we send him.
