Just an addendum, Lowe's spent $2.4 Billion for RONA and is selling its assets in Canada for $400 Million. When will Americans finally realize that Canada is not like them except superficially. Our regulations (rightfully) are tougher, our tastes differ markedly, and our expectations are notably different. You can spend a long time doing your research or you can blindly jump into a market you don't understand (like Target) because. Canada. Is. Not. The. U.S.
I was wondering why my local Lowe's store was being rebranded as a RONA+. Well it seems the Canadian market has been deemed to hard for another big American chain and has left the country with it's tail between its legs. How do I figure? They sold their Canadian holdings for about $400 million. I'm pretty sure they spent a lot more than that buying up RONA in the first place. At least it seems to be back under Canadian control again.

Sooo after the whole Jason Alden’s news here in GA it’s wild to wake up to the news that the Klan appears to have struck again overnight and passed out racist flyers to a neighborhood in Hampton GA that read have white babies with pictures of white kids. Just in case you thought this was the first time it’s like like fifth time in two months different cities different neighborhoods they have passed out racist flyers. 🤷♀️👩🏻🦰

First discovered Stan Rogers on CBC while living in Calgary. It wasn't until the company I worked for began to fail in this country and I found myself uprooted and on the road chasing places we still had contracts that I really got into his whole catalogue while working on Vancouver Island. I was shipped off to Ontario and kept listening to The Idiot over and over thinking about the irony of moving West to East to find a job. 30 years later I'm settled in Ontario with no desire to move back West
I can't believe an intelligent person in this day and age couldn't see this coming a mile away. These companies don't pay for content. Why should they when they have millions of...users...giving them content for nothing.

I'm sorry but who didn't see this coming? I'm definitely not a fan of Meta or any of its spawn but frankly, they're commercial operations. They're not the ones usually posting news content, it's their users. I suspect that most of the views of news organizations are driven from sites like Facebook. Let's see how that works out.

@Cdn_Skeptic_Wm I'm against the rich getting richer, because it comes with costs to other people. Not only do we get poorer, but technological innovation is stunted, the ability to stop climate change is out the window, and we lose more and more political power and ability to direct our own lives as wealth inequality grows and wealth is used to seise more power.
If it were just that they got twelve megayachts, wouldn't care. But those come at the cost of millions in poverty and a dead planet.
