Maybe I’m just crabby this morning but I don’t give a fig about the GOP or the House nonsense. Let them continue to fight amongst themselves. Reap. Sow. I’d rather they be in chaos and accomplish nothing for two years than have them passing ridiculous legislation that hurts people.

I gave up my stateside voter registration in order to vote in the USVI. In doing so, lost the opportunity to vote for Obama. Both terms.

The decision by Governor Albert Bryan to fire the A.G. came just days after Bloomberg News revealed that Ms. George in her capacity as V.I. attorney general had filed a lawsuit against JPMorgan Chase — the largest bank in the United States and the world's largest bank by market capitalization — without first informing Governor Bryan of such a major action, said a person with knowledge of the matter.

Denise George, who served as V.I. attorney general for four years during the Bryan administration's first term, was terminated on Dec. 31, 2022, the Consortium has learned.

No, the Ds don't have a plan to put anybody else forward for Speaker of the House than their own leader, Hakeem Jeffries.

The Rs have the House majority in the next Congress (for now). It's up to them to decide who they think their leader is. If and only if they are unable to reconcile the differences between their factions enough to elect a Speaker is it possible that some Rs might approach the Ds asking for a cross-party vote.

At that point the Ds ask: So what can you do for us?

On this date in history, December 29, 1890, the Wounded Knee Massacre. The U.S. Army’s 7th Cavalry tried to disarm the members of the Lakota tribe who were camped at the Wounded Knee Creek. During their attempt, a shot was fired and the cavalry massacred over 150 members of the tribe including women and children. Many historians believe that the number of people massacred was much higher. #woundedknee is near present day Lakota Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in the state of South Dakota.
