Truth. The trees are beginning to turn as temps are dropping. Actually had to close the windows earlier.
PT today even though we pushed it hard yesterday. Seems up & down in recovery of those muscles.
@LnzyHou @CinnamonGirlE “recovery” is a relative term. Aim high and be prepared for negotiations. Everyone has their experiences with pain. I try to keep my definition of the 0 - 10 pain scale as 10 being in need of a medically induced coma, and 0 is dead. Worst ever is not necessarily worst possible.
Had that same discussion with PT folks yesterday. I see patients come in & refuse to do exercises because it hurts. It hurts because unused muscles are being used again.
My problem is lack of patience. I push too hard much to their chagrin. I want it all fixed NOW.

Yes, this Leo has a sore shoulder and knee I am giving a break this week. All because I pushed too hard at the gym. It's feeling better today. Then back at it, just not quite as hard.
Leo twins. I insisted on using pulleys yesterday. Only 2 min. Therapist was not happy.
Today we pay.

Yesterday a very elderly woman, hunched over her walker was going out the front door at the same time as me.
As she shuffled through the lobby, there were two people sitting & conversing. I pointed out the manager forbade people gathering in the lobby.
She stood up straight, looked directly at me and said “Fuck em”.
Almost wet myself laughing.

There simply is no life without pain. As a nurse, I was amazed when people demanded no pain. Well okay, I will do my best to help alleviate that, but pain is part of living. 🤷🏻♀️
