T minus 5 hours until my Covid booster. It appears I have successfully evaded acquiring some variant of that bastard virus between setting the appointment and actually getting the shot.
A friend and I disagree on boosters. He is research savvy & has reservations because of a small incidence of vax related myocarditis; a condition Covid infection can cause.
My having high moderate (not needing hospitalization) C19 experiences sways my risk/benefit analysis to boost. How about you?
@CanisPundit One of my oldest friends & former band mate has gone full-in on the anti-vax stance. He put a post up last week how Covid vaxes are killing more people than Covid itself (which is 'basically the flu')and that he doesn't want to hear from 'liberal idiots who have been brainwashed by Bill Gates'.
This despite the fact that a mutual friend came very close to dying at the start of Covid (and never fully recovered) and HIS OWN TWO BROTHERS were in ICU for 2 weeks with it! 🙄

@Sr0bi @BillyBones just as we do not know the long term effects of Covid, we do not know the long term effects of the vaccines and boosters. My go to example is EBV which we know find with about 2% of the infected developing related cancer. Over 90% of the world population gets EBV whether they know it or not.
Some studies suggest that some vaccines may increase incidence of chronic immunological diseases: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1114674/
This is not all black and white, right/wrong.
@CanisPundit @BillyBones
Not sure having reservations because of a small incidence of vax related myocarditis and being research savvy really belong together in the same sentence but OK.
