@rcpmac Sorry. So, erm.. the big ones on the education side are Moodle, Blackboard, Canvas, D2L and erm.. there's Sakisomething. There are too many to name on the commercial side. And they buy each other all the time. Basically they allow you to host a variety of learning activities and assessments,. Most have SCORM (or another standard) compliance so you can use elearning authoring tools and make packages to put on them.

For a lot of people the fall of twitter will me a narrowing and reducing of their lives. For a lot of disabled folks, for folks who are gender fluid or trans, for a lot of organizers for community, labour etc it offered a central point of comms, Honestly, I had a bad time there, but I also recognize that there was a lot of good there, so I take very little joy in it's death.

@maartenvda @Maude it is my firmly held belief that he doesn't actually run/manage Tesla or SpaceX. He might be the boss, but there are many layers between him and the levers. it's like they all said "fuck it" and let him have twitter as a treat.

... so here we are, in about 7 day or so not only has he managed to basically kill it (or wound it mortally) but he's also revealed what a lot of us have deduced: he is a very stupid, bad, venal man.

... about that: my sense is at Tesla there are a lot of layers between Elon and any decision making. At SpaceX they are so intertwined with NASA and so heavily regulated that he can't fiddle with things too much.. but no one in his circle was able to put a firewall up for twitter (or they just didn't think it was important.)...

... but .. always butt.. the coms during the #chch #eqnz, the people I can stay in touch with back in Aotearoa, the new ideas, the better ideas, the silly shit, the victories, triumphs and sadnesses.. they were all there as well. Those things were amazing. Honest to god, I miss it. I will miss it when it's gone for real...

... and, as a big, angry cis white lefty fella, the ohter bits were fine. I lost the first account mb 2018 (good run eh) and then moved to one with the same tag as this. Then it got noticed (same phone number)... so I tweeted as one of my cats. And for me, it was toxic, and it did make me pissy (ask my wife) ...

o, some thoughts: I joined twitter when there were mb 200K members (first account: ronindotca). Early twitter was mostly fun. People of Sweden! Funny games (ruin a thing by changing a thing), meeting people, Blacktwitter smacking folks about the head, Scottish/Irish twitter telling us how to swear, local politics..
