I like cocktails. I like canapé and hors d'oeuvres. I do not understand this need to put them together. Plates. Food goes on a plate. Not on a stick or straw in the booze.

@Camerondotca
I really enjoyed these Bloody Mary's at Chefs Point Diner in Texas. You can always move the food to the plate. I do get your point though.

@sghamel it's part of the whole "no plates" thing. Food on slate, food in cups, food in jars, food in a million other things. It just feels like it's meant to obscure the fact that a lot of this food is, you know, rubbish.

@Camerondotca
Like I said, I do get your point. I had a steakhouse in Texas and we always used fine china. I have had 2 pizza places here in Costa Rica and we always had plates on hand even when they were not called for. Sometimes it is just fun I guess to have something different.

@sghamel I guess. And yeah, this move to "elevated pub grub" where a lot of it is provided by food service companies is gross.
