The sad irony is that we spend more to deny healthcare, shelter, nutrition than if we just did it. For instance the US spends about $13k/capita on healthcare yet 40M are uninsured. Germany spends about 11k and Everyone is covered.
The US spends more to get less so that those we deem unworthy are denied. Aside from the immorality of this, it’s just a terrible business decision.
