At one time, circular economies were the way of the world. You'd buy candles made by people next door, they'd use that $ to buy a table from the guy across the road, he'd trade the money for the wine made by a family on the outskirts of the village & so on. No need for Small Business Week - all businesses were small businesses & the personal interactions strengthened local bonds.
