I'm weirdly bothered by this..

In a small town southwest of Chicago the Gemini Giant is being sold today to who knows whom and how on earth are they going to move it?

We don't drive that way often, but we go out of our way to pay our respects when we do.

UPDATE: Good news!

The giant was bought by the Joliet Area Historical Museum. They are putting it in secure storage while they work out the best spot for it, still in Wilmington and - most importantly - still on Route 66.

I would! But the winning bid (and there were others) was $275,000 and that's a wee bit over my lawn ornament budget.
